Support free speech and peaceful vigils - do not impose bans on pro-life activities within 150 metres of abortion clinics.

The issue

The Tasmanian government retains legislation that prohibits peaceful pro-life activities of protests and vigils within 150 metres of abortion clinics. This legislation has been threatened against peaceful protestor Mr Graham Preston. Mr Shane Rattenbury (Greens), ACT Justice Minister, proposes to introduce a similar ban in the ACT following a peaceful prayer vigil outside the ACT's abortion clinic on 24 March 2015 as part of the 40 Days for Life campaign. The ACT prayer vigil included Archbishop Christopher Prowse, the Catholic Archbishop of Canberra and Goulburn. Pictured is Mrs Bev Cains, President of the ACT Right to Life Association. Does Mrs Cains look like a vicious and dangerous protestor???
