When the temperature is close to or at freezing, we are currently allowed to wear leggings and khakis, but they are just not warm enough. Allowing students to wear basic colored sweatpants under our skorts will make us so much warmer while traveling from class to class. This is also the first school year that students have been required to eat lunch outside in colder temperatures. These sweatpants should be permitted to have small, appropriate logos for (this school year) that will not disrupt the school day. We think that it is fair if our community rule is modified to allow students to wear basic colored sweatpants under our skorts when the temperature is 50 degrees or lower. Students have noticed that some days the temperature is so cold and we feel sweatpants will really help us stay warmer because leggings and khakis don’t do the job. In addition, while wearing sweatpants we could also wear leggings under the sweatpants for another layer! Please consider this petition as we strive to stay warm in these colder months!
