The size and dimensions of side upper and side lower berths in 2AC coaches of superfast passenger or express trains in Indian railways are way smaller and uncomfortable than the normal lower and upper berths. Yet a person is more comfortable sleeping in normal lower and upper berths than in side lower or upper. Why is the fare then same for all the berths? Side upper/side lower should be charged less than normal lower/upper berths as the former are smaller in size, dimensions and more uncomfortable. It is also uncomfortable to lie down on side lower due to the thin gap between the two seats when they are lowered. Either increase the size and make them as the same size as normal lower/upper berths in 2AC coaches or charge less for them.
