I, Musaad Haider, live in UK and my bride-to-be and love of my life, Noor, lives in Pakistan. If I have any hope of bringing her over by Spring 2018, I need to have the marriage contract  (Nikaah nama as they call it in Pakistan) so that it can be attested and submitted with the visa application. I dont mind delaying the wedding party in April when everyone is available from our families, as long as I have the visa by then and I know that my wife will travel back with me on the same flight. PS: nikaah nama can even by issued remotely on phone after a small religious proceeding. Thats all I want right now, although I am willing to travel for a few days too if Noor's family want me to be there in person.

Right now I am not getting any sense of progress. I am not sure if my in-laws feel the urgency. I have decided to spend the rest of my life with Noor and I want that part of my life to start today. Even April is a stretch but I have come to accept it as an inevitable delay.

But if I dont get the marriage certificate by Jan/Feb, our union could be delayed till June/July. Those who have experienced love would see how that is unimaginable.
