A signature campaign and a candlelight march were held in Pimpri Chinchwad on Tuesday on the fourth day of an agitation by citizens and opposition parties against the transfer of former municipal commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi. An action committee formed to oppose his transfer conducted a signature campaign at the Babasaheb Ambedkar chowk in Pimpri in the afternoon. They appealed to motorists at the traffic signal, passengers in autorickshaws and pedestrians to sign the banner. Around 600 people obliged. The candlelight march was in Charholi area in the evening. Activists, social organisations and opposition parties have been conducting protest meetings and signature campaigns besides taking out candle marches.
