Acting on a complaint filed by activist Vijay Kumbhar of Surajya Sangharsh Samiti, the State Information Commissioner (SIC) Ratnakar Gaikwad has issued a notice to the chief secretary asking him to remain present before the Commission on February 28 along with relevant document regarding former PCMC chief Dr Shrikar Pardeshi's transfer.
Despite a public uproar, the State government transferred Dr Pardeshi as the Inspector General of the Registrations and Controller of Stamps. The government's decision was condemned by all sections of society. Kumbhar had filed a complaint with the SIC, following which the latter ordered an inquiry into the transfer case as per Section 18(2) of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
According to the complaint, the State government is required to communicate to the public at large about the untimely transfer of IAS officers.
