The Issue

Mr. Jihad has been a cornerstone of the Muslim Student Association at Washington Technology Magnet School. Over the past 8+ years, he has dedicated himself to nurturing and building a strong and vibrant community within our school. His commitment and passion have not only transformed our Muslim Student Association (MSA) into a leading organization within the Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) district but have also made a significant difference in the lives of countless students.

Under Mr. Jihad's leadership, our MSA has achieved milestones that seemed unattainable at the outset. His mentorship and vision helped create an inclusive environment where students feel welcome and heard, promoting understanding and cultural awareness throughout our school. Mr. Jihad's passion for education is evident, and it has inspired many students to engage, participate, and grow both academically and personally.

Unfortunately, despite his invaluable contributions to our community and school, there are current plans to lay off Mr. Jihad. This decision is not only disheartening but also a great loss to our school and its students. It threatens to dismantle the very essence of what Mr. Jihad has worked so tirelessly to build over the years.

We believe that laying off Mr. Jihad would be a grave mistake. He is more than just a faculty member; he is a mentor, a guide, and a friend to many. His presence is vital to maintaining the culture and spirit that the MSA upholds. Without him, students would lose a big part of what makes our school special and supportive.

We urge the administration to reconsider this decision. Instead of laying off Mr. Jihad, let's recognize his incredible contributions and find a solution that allows him to continue his invaluable work at our school. We suggest exploring alternative measures to address budgetary constraints without losing critical staff who play an essential role in student development and community engagement.

Please sign this petition to express your support for keeping Mr. Jihad at Washington Technology Magnet School. His impact on our school is immeasurable, and with your help, we can ensure he remains a vital part of our community. Let's stand together to make sure Mr. Jihad continues his meaningful work with us. Sign and share this petition to show that his efforts are deeply valued by all.
