Girls in Plum Borough School District are facing something truly terrible, objectification. Objectification is a harmful thing to endure and the girls in our school deal with  it on a daily basis. Whether it is the unaccommodating dress code, the blatant disrespect that comes from both boys and girls, or the lack of proper sex ed classes there is objectification happening in our school. It needs to be stopped. If we all sign this petition we can help to create a equal dress code that is still modest but doesn't relinquish female rights to their form of dress and self expression. We can begin teaching boys how to respect a girls body rather than making her hide it to ward off distraction. We can stop female bullying in schools, because, we as females set the standards for how the boys will treat us and if we keep harming our own gender, we are giving boys the right to harm us. We can help create a better sex education curriculum that doesn't force abstinence - because most teens chose not to listen anyway - rather it explains the reality of sex and begin to dispute the false assumptions surrounding sex. If we do this, we can create a safer learning environment for both boys and girls. If we don't do this, we stay stuck in this unsafe learning environment. I am tired of being objectified or told I can't wear what I am comfortable in. Please sign this petition and help end objectification.
