I am somebody who has taken notice of the uniform in Belfast model school for girls, Not only have I heard numerous complaints from students about having to wear them, how they get too hot, are a hassle to clean but have also heard from a few very distressed Vegan children about being made to wear their blazers. Not all staff are aware of the few vegan children that go to the school.

Vegans do not wear wool because vegans do not support any kind of animal exploitation, and breeding, keeping and shearing sheep for their wool is a form of exploitation. But aside from general animal rights concerns, there are other reasons why wool is a product of cruelty.

I am also aware that the opposing school "Belfast model school for boys" do not have nor are forced to wear woollen blazers.

I am not a student at the school nor was I previously, I have left school but friends that attend and I have decided it's best to speak out and this was the only way we thought of to get noticed and as a fellow vegan I really do not agree they should be made to wear these uniforms.
