The Issue

We, the undersigned parents, guardians, and concerned community members of Morello Park Elementary, respectfully submit this petition to formally request the removal of Principal James Stewart from their current position at our school.

This request arises from a pattern of ongoing concerns that we believe have negatively impacted the learning environment, school morale, and student safety and well-being. These issues include, but are not limited to:

  1. Lack of Leadership
Failure to effectively address bullying, physical violence, and student misconduct, leading to a decline in student safety and trust.
  2. Ineffective Communication
Communication between administration and staff, as well as with families, is often inconsistent or dismissive of concerns raised. This undermines trust and cooperation within the school community
  3. Lack of Support for Entire Student Body
Disproportionately protecting “frequent flyers” while the safety and emotional well-being of remaining student population is sidelined with no attempt to foster relationships with students outside of “frequent flyers.”
  4. Lack of Support for Teaching Staff and Administration
There is a clear and ongoing pattern of poor support for teaching staff and administration. Many educators and staff feel unsupported, undervalued, and disrespected in their professional roles. This has led to decreased morale, strained staff relationships, and an unhealthy working environment. We believe a positive and collaborative culture is critical for teacher retention and student success.
  5. Negative School Climate
Under current leadership, the overall school atmosphere has deteriorated.

We urge the district to conduct a thorough review of the leadership at Morello Park Elementary and take appropriate action in the best interests of the students, faculty, and the greater school community.

Sincerely,

Morello Park Elementary Parents
