The New York Mets have long been the joke of NY baseball, disregarded by their home city. This has led to poor fan attendance, mockery of the club, etc. The franchise is not appreciated in New York. However, there is a location where fan numbers for the Mets outnumber the ones in New York City, who are passionate and loyal to this franchise while being hundreds of miles away: The fans of Gary, Indiana. The city of Gary has the largest group of Mets fans in the country, and the most available room to house the team, a new stadium, and other development that would come with the team.

The stakes are high. The Mets need to come home to Gary, Indiana. Doing so would provide much needed jobs, entertainment, and tourism for the local population. The City of Gary deserves to have their own sports team, and what better team than the historic franchise of the Mets, the number one team in the heart and soul of thousands of people living in Gary.
