We’re asking the Palm Beach County school district to consider adjusting the current middle school softball and baseball schedule.

Right now, games are scheduled in the fall, which is the rainiest season in Florida. As we all know, August, September and October can bring frequent thunderstorms, field closures, and lightning delays.

This leads to:

-Constant game and practice cancellations
-Rescheduled games during the school day (causing kids to miss class)
-Unpredictable weekly schedules for coaches and families
-Shortened or disrupted seasons for student-athletes

What We’re Asking:
Conduct the season at a different time of year when the threat of inclement weather is less.
This would:

-Reduce cancellations and make the schedule more consistent
-Help students miss less class time
-Allow coaches to focus more on teaching and team-building
-Make the season more fun and less stressful for everyone
