Move Music in the Meadows back to Butterfield Park

Move Music in the Meadows back to Butterfield Park
The Issue
Butterfield Park has always been the heart of our community here in the Meadows. These last few years, Ive spent many summer evenings with friends and family enjoying the live music events at Butterfield Park. (Aka “Music in the Meadows”).This location not only offers a central spot accessible to all, but it also provides a wide range of amenities unique to our community.
Recently, the decision was made to move “Music in the Meadows” to a different location (Mercantile Park), which has diminished the sense of community and accessibility that Butterfield Park offered.
Butterfield Park is strategically located to serve everyone in our community. Its central position makes it easy for residents from all corners of The Meadows to attend events without hassle. Unlike the new venue, Butterfield Park provides ample parking, plenty of space to spread out , an ADA playground, sport courts, and plumbed restrooms.
Moreover, the park's natural landscape and acoustics create an unmatched ambiance for music events. The open space allows families to set up picnics, children to play safely, and seniors to partake without difficulty. Moving the event to another location will unfortunately disrupted this cherished tradition.
Statistics have shown that locality and ease of access greatly impact event attendance and community participation. By hosting Music in the Meadows at Butterfield Park, we ensure higher attendance and more robust community involvement.
Bringing Music in the Meadows back to Butterfield Park isn't just about nostalgia—it's about practicality and preserving our community's spirit and values. Let us call on the event organizers to reconsider their decision and restore this beloved event to its rightful home.
Join me in advocating to bring Music in the Meadows back to Butterfield Park by signing this petition. Together, we can make a difference for our community in Castle Rock, ensuring that all events are accessible and continue to strengthen our local bonds.
