Year 11s are taking their GCSE Exams this May, and it would be more efficient for us to have an extra day of study leave before our GCSE exams start on the 09th of May 2024. The current plan is for the last school day to be Tuesday 07th May 2024. However, by the time we finish the full school day on Tuesday, many of us will be too tired to revise effectively that evening. Therefore, moving the last day to Friday 03rd May would provide us with much-needed additional preparation time.

Research shows that adequate rest and preparation significantly improve exam performance (source: Cambridge Assessment). It is crucial for our mental health and academic success that we are given sufficient time to prepare for these important exams.

We urge our headteacher, Mrs. M Jeanes, to consider this change not only in light of its potential benefits but also as a demonstration of understanding and support towards students' needs during this stressful period.
