13-15 Soho Road is a refuge for ex-offenders run by the company Law, Leisure and Learning.

Over the years, the hostel residents have caused ongoing issues like violent crime, drug use, antisocial behaviour, and intimidation towards the local community.

Now, local community groups have come together to try and make their community safer.

In a serious incident which prompted the start of this petition, police and ambulance services were called for a man covered in blood, wielding a metal pipe with blood covering his face. This man appeared at home time in-front of pupils and parents who were left traumatised.

It is absolutely integral that those in this hostel are given proper support and are in an uplifting environment. Unfortunately, this location does not provide that. On a busy main road surrounded by three schools, this location is not ultimately beneficial for residents in the refuge.

The local community have tried to negotiate with the providers but concerns have gone unheard.

We are calling for action to relocate this hostel to a location where residents and local communities will be safer.
