Petition 4 Tuition

Petition 4 Tuition

On June 30, 2019, the collective agreement contract between Mount Allison University (Administration) and the Mount Allison Faculty Association (MAFA) ended. MAFA has been working without a contract for over the past six months, while negotiating with the Administration at the bargaining table.
On February 3, 2020, in the absence of a collective agreement with the Administration, MAFA took legal strike action. While the strike is ongoing, members of MAFA are not being paid by the Administration.
At Mount Allison University, students pay some of the highest tuition rates in Canada. Despite this, all classes, labs and tutorials are cancelled for the duration of the strike. The Administration has refused to give clear answers to students and their families regarding compensation for these lost instructional hours.
As a Mount Allison student, I demand a full tuition rebate for the cumulative loss of instructional hours as a result of the strike.
