In the early morning hours of September 30, there was a shooting at the Palms Motel next to KIPP Academy of Opportunity. The police department's investigation forced us to divert our families to our neighboring school, KIPP Empower Academy, and then ultimately to close school for the day for 500 students.

Our families and community are deeply concerned by this news and other incidents that have occurred at the Palms Motel, and we want to do everything we can to help ensure their safety and well-being. We ask that you support our schools by signing this petition demanding the motel’s owner sell the building to KIPP SoCal Public Schools so that we can transform it into a space that is safe for our students and community. Enough is enough.

En las primeras horas de la mañana del 30 de septiembre, hubo un tiroteo en el Palms Motel junto a KIPP Academy of Opportunity. La investigación del departamento de policía nos obligó a desviar a nuestras familias a nuestra escuela vecina, KIPP Empower Academy, y finalmente a cerrar la escuela por un día para 500 estudiantes.

Nuestras familias y comunidad están profundamente preocupadas por esta noticia y otros incidentes que han ocurrido en Palms Motel, y queremos hacer todo lo posible para ayudar a garantizar su seguridad y bienestar. Le pedimos que apoye a nuestras escuelas firmando esta petición exigiendo que el propietario del motel venda el edificio a las Escuelas Públicas de KIPP SoCal para que podamos transformarlo en un espacio seguro para nuestros estudiantes y la comunidad.
