MOORINGS INSTALLATION EXUMA BAHAMAS

The Issue

Attention, Guardians of Bahamaland,

A matter of great importance demands our united voices and vigilant attention. The leasing of approximately 4,165 acres of seabed in the Exuma Cays to a private company with political ties along with the right to install and operate mooring services not only in Exuma but also elsewhere across The Bahamas, raises serious questions about transparency, community involvement, and environmental sustainability.

This decision, made without any consultation with the affected communities or local government representatives, endangers the livelihoods of local businesses, especially those dependent on tourism. It also sets a precedent with significant implications for environmental protection and fair, open bidding processes.

The Exuma Cays, and indeed all of our Bahamian Islands, are national treasures. They must be safeguarded with clear and accountable leadership, ensuring that any development prioritizes the interests of Bahamians and preserves our natural resources for future generations.

This is not merely an issue for Exuma but for all who call The Bahamas home. The implications of this lease extend across our island chain, impacting our sovereignty, economic stability, and environmental integrity.

Let us stand together, united by our love for Bahamaland, to demand transparency, fairness, and sustainability. Join this movement to protect our shores, our livelihoods, and our heritage.

WE DEMAND THAT THE AGREEMENT IS RESCINDED. ACT NOW TO STOP CRONYISM & POLITICAL PATRONAGE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CAYS.

Sign this petition and let your voice echo across every cay and island. Our future depends on the actions we take today.

Thank you and God Bless! Signed Terry Bain & Debra Moxey-Rolle.
