The Italian Communist Party (PCI) released a statement yesterday which shocked many of us. Domenico Losurdo passed away yesterday morning. He was 77. We in the international communist movement have a large gap to fill in his absence. Even though we mourn, we must continue to arm ourselves with the tool of history that Losurdo has passed down to us, and use it as a foundation to further build upwards. It is more important than ever to make sure that his currently untranslated works to English are finally translated, especially "Stalin: A History and Critique of a Black Legend." It was Professor Losurdo's wish to find an Anglophone publishing house to do this. In his very brief correspondence with me, he asked "but who"? Which is why we hope a publisher like Monthly Review Press can answer that question for him. You can contact them on their website at https://monthlyreview.org/contact/ or even on Twitter @monthly_review where they originally responded to this petition stating they would discuss the possibility with their press editors. Let's see to it that Losurdo's wish becomes a reality one way or another. Riposa in pace e potere, Compango Losurdo.
