Many people moved to Damascus for its small town charm and rural community feel. The Damascus Master Plan was revised in 2006 to allow the town center to become more urbanized, however it does not reflect the desires of most of the community and misrepresents our interest.  We already have issues related to increasing traffic.  Left unchecked, Damascus will get more dense development around its town center.  This effort aims to allow for the Master Plan that sets the guidelines for new development to be updated to preserve the small town character and prevent Damascus from becoming like other areas that in hindsight may have been overdeveloped.
