As residents of Bad Rock Canyon- Hungry Horse, Columbia Falls, Coram and Martin City, we are tired of seeing friends hurt and killed in the stretch of dangerous highway between Hungry Horse and Columbia Heights. Even on dry sunny days in the summer, that stretch is extremely dangerous. Add the growing tourist population, out of towners, and semis and RVs to some cold, winter roads and you have a new accident almost every other day. We are asking that the stretch of Highway 2 between Hungry horse and Columbia heights be changed to 45 MPH until the highway opens back up to 4 lanes at The House Of Mystery. Flashing signs warning of the dangerous curve should also be installed warning traffic both ways of dangerous highway conditions year round.
