We, the citizens of Monroe County, hereby petition the Monroe County School Board members, to publicly state the specific infractions attributed to Superintendent Dr. Deanna McClendon that are alleged to warrant removal via a forced buy-out. We also petition the board to hold themselves accountable for disrespectful and demeaning statements made by individual board members about Dr. McClendon without clarifying the alleged illegal or unethical improprieties attributed to her and call for a public apology. We are cognizant of the many positive actions she has performed to improve our county’s educational system and provide for opportunities for our children’s success.  We are embarrassed by what we believe are politically and racially motivated false allegations and erroneous assumptions pushed forward by a misogynistic faction of the board which has been fed by discussions outside the scrutiny of the public eye.  If the board is unable to offer legitimate evidence to the contrary, we demand that our Board of Education Stop the Superintendent Buy Out.
