Monopolizing Discovery: Revert UEFN Payouts

The Issue

Creator economy 2.0 is where it all started, an amazing opportunity for dedicated creators trying to make the best experiences out there. Epic Games offered creators a chance to get money for doing something they love. Creating games.

But this might have been too good to be true. On May 31st news came out of a new updated Engagement payout formula that would take effect on July 1st. This all seemed amazing news for small creator as stated in the tweet made by @FNCreate (Offical Fortnite creative account) quote "More paths to success", instead this was a major hit for small creators and creators who are passionate about creating Fortnite games.

Once the majority of payouts were received made on August 31st creators noticed a more then 75%+ drop of revenue with the almost same amount of players and playtime compared to last month. While Epic Games with their own gamemode "Battle Royale" and many other gamemodes taking a big gain. This is all because of the new metric added that would give creators who get more players into the Fortnite eco system a bigger cut. Of course, Fortnite's standard gamemode Battle Royale will get way more players back into Fortnite then a random tycoon would. This is all because of the 70GB download Fortnite has. Nobody would download Fortnite just to play a random tycoon, horror game or even a FPS shooter.

This all taken into note Epic Games made a decision that unfairly affects small creators and creators who are passionate about creating games and gave the bigger creators an even bigger gain then they already had. Epic games is sidelining the creators that made Creative 2.0 creative 2.0. Unique experiences.

We ask Epic Games to reconsider the recent changes made to the Payout Formula. We ask for a system that truly values creativity and innovation, one that supports all creators big and small equally. Epic games please stand by your promise of providing "more paths to success" for everyone not just the big names.
