STOP THE MERGER OF NORTH ESSEX PARTNERSHIP TRUST AND SOUTH ESSEX PARTNERSHIP TRUST

STOP THE MERGER OF NORTH ESSEX PARTNERSHIP TRUST AND SOUTH ESSEX PARTNERSHIP TRUST

The Issue

North Essex Partnership Trust is aiming to merge with South Essex Partnership Trust - all without consultation. Is this so senior staff will no longer be accountable for the poor performance of North Essex Partnership? All the evidence suggests that a merger will only serve to cause more further instability of Mental Health Services in Essex. We, the public, are not being consulted on this merger- the same as the lack of consultations around the Older Adults Dementia ward move to Clacton and equally the closure of Peter Bruff Adult Acute ward. There must be accountability...the board appears to be untouchable. A small group of people making such important decisions that affect so many...all to keep there pockets lined no doubt. The proposed SEPT/NEPFT merger will not bring any benefits to the people of Essex. Finances is not a valid reason to merge. Currently there is partnership with SEPT and the substance misuse teams - working together on STARS...we are reliably informed that NEPFT are having all sorts of problems and have been running for over a year now!!! North Essex Partnership has been going through big changes under the  Journeys' programme and this has caused chaos with the resulting Staff survey and monitor need to ask why is this not being rectified in the first instance???? Where is the evidence that a merger will bring about Quality Care???? Monitor’s job is to protect and promote the interests of patients by ensuring the whole sector works for their benefit. It makes sure that: public sector healthcare providers are well led so that they can provide high quality care to local communities essential NHS services continue if a provider gets into difficulty the NHS payment system rewards quality and efficiency choice and competition operate in the best interests of patients......we all ask that you investigate this very important issue.
