As of today, over 10,958,448 people have bought the popular videogame Minecraft.
The Wii U has an install base of roughly 4 million people which is expected to grow within the year and onwards.

The Nintendo Wii U's gamepad would make great use of the inventory and crafting systems featured in Minecraft. With the gamepad, there could be less interruptions on the TV screen, with menus, prompts, etc taking place on the gamepad. Along with touch based controls, the Wii U also supports online play, off tv play, and gyroscopic controls all which can be implemented into the game to further enjoy the experience.

As of now, there is an exclusive contract between Microsoft and Mojang but when said deal is over they will be able to port their game to other systems besides the 360 and Xbox one. Mojang nor Microsoft never announced how long their exclusive contract will last. But what we DO know is that for another console version of Minecraft we will have to wait for the Xbox exclusivity to run out

With Nintendo's new indie support, they allow people to self publish their games as well as provide free updates and patches making a Nintendo Wii U edition of Minecraft functionable with Mojang's frequent updates and fixes.

Let's make Mojang aware that a Wii U edition of Minecraft would be greatly supported. Sign the petition today.
