Mohammad Al Hout - MEA Chairman: STOP NOW! MEA is endangering the lives of passengers and crew
This petition had 524 supporters
MEA is endangering the lives of passengers and their crew by flying over the conflict zones in Syria. While International Airlines around the world declared Syria as a NO-FLY Zone, MEA’s greed is preventing them from taking those safety measures, because money means more to them than people’s lives.
MEA says they can not change the flight route because it is more costly for them (more fuel consumption), and they can not increase flight rates due to market competitiveness.
In addition, they also suspended pilot Tony Abi Khalil who tried raising the issue among his co-workers.
If MEA doesn’t change their policy and avoid Syrian air routes, a national disaster is bound to happen.
If MEA does not respond to this petition, we Lebanese customers, immigrants & residents in Lebanon shall take further peaceful action to pressure MEA and their greedy CEO.
We will not allow another air disaster to happen because of poor safety measures ( like the Ethiopian airplane disaster 3 years ago), this time, we want to prevent it.

It is not acceptable that MEA (once the pride of Lebanon) endangers our lives as frequent passengers, or the life of anyone for a few extra dollars!
