As downtown Yakima workers, we are deeply angered by the imposition of parking fees that have been levied on us. The necessity of coming to work should not be a financial burden, yet the current $50/month passes offered by our city have made it so. This issue hits close to home for us, as this is an unfair financial burden disproportionately affecting those of us on minimum wage. 

This situation is even more challenging for part-time workers who earn less but are still required to pay the same amount for parking. It's clear that this system needs adjusting to accommodate exceptions for downtown workers.

We urge the city officials to reconsider this policy and modify the downtown Yakima Parking Structure accordingly. We believe in fair treatment and equal opportunities for all employees in our beloved city - let's ensure everyone can afford to come work without undue financial stress.
