I am a local business owner severely affected by the current road configuration that prohibits left hand turns into my establishment. The median in place disrupts the flow of traffic, dissuades potential customers and hence, negatively impacts the overall business significantly. Studies suggest that easy access to businesses significantly increases customer flow - a factor that currently hampers our business due to the median (Source: National Cooperative Highway Research Program Report 420). A simple alteration to this median, allowing left turns, would not only benefit my business but potentially uplift the local economy as well by encouraging more traffic towards the commercial area. Therefore, we kindly request that the local city council consider our plea to modify this median to allow left hand turns, thus ensuring growth and success to businesses like ours that are the heart and soul of our community.
