Modify Age Brackets for Various Positions of Office — 25-40 years of age
The Issue
Our entire country is impacted by our leader, but especially twenty to thirty year olds, and yet we vote into office people three, sometimes four generations above the young adults to govern our country. Currently, young and middle-aged adults struggle to afford cars, houses, apartments, and even basic necessities like food, with many not having children because the cost of living is simply too expensive from the policies put into place by those that govern us. Day in and day out, we the people are consistently bent-over and screwed from behind by the leaders of our country. These leaders, who already possess nice cars, houses, properties, businesses, and substantial retirement savings, seem more concerned with their own financial gain than the well-being of the general populace, and introduce policies that reflect this.
If we allow this to stay the same, our country will collapse. Evidence of this decline is already visible in the frequent riots occurring in various cities around our country. If we the people of the United States continue to allow a generation of people whom are no longer impacted by the decisions they make to govern us, we are simply drowning ourselves. If we wish for a better change, the first of many should be that of age minimums and maximums for office. To run for office, the minimum age should be twenty-five, with a maximum running age of forty. This change is meant to prevent those who are ultimately unaffected by new policies from running for office and to allow for real, positive change. In the past fifty years, the youngest President elected was Bill Clinton, who was forty-six at the time. Our most previous President, Joe Biden, was seventy-eighy when he was elected, and soon after declared to be so senile that he was 'mentally unfit' to undergo criminal proceeding for withholding classified documents, and yet he is somehow mentally fit enough to lead our country? I urge my fellow citizens to truly consider why we choose senior citizens to govern us when they put into effect policies that line their pockets with the hard earned money of the hard-working citizens. If we choose to change the age brackets for office, it will allow a flood of positive growth for Generation Alpha all the way up to the younger of Generation X, and possibly beyond, because these hard-working and struggling Generations will be putting policies into effect to help the general populace, as they themselves would be affected by the policies they put in place.
If we choose not to act quickly, our country's original purpose of freedom and justice for all, will soon be lost to the greed that is Corporate America. Our way of life will be lost, and we will be forced to slave away with seventy to eighty hour work weeks, for mere dollars to the hour, while the Corporations profit off of our hard labor, giving real meaning to the saying 'boss makes a dollar while I make a dime'. Our country has shifted from a time of economic thriving and well-being in which the general populace were able to buy houses in their early adult years with typical thirty to fourty hour work weeks, to a time of hardship with many being unable to purchase a house even as middle aged adults working fifty to sixty hour weeks. This is not natural inflation, this is calculated and purposefully implemented by the government, in order to eliminate the bridge between the "haves" and the "have-nots", for lack of a better term, and widen the economic gap to horde as much money as they possibly can. Unless change is implemented swiftly and immediately, the economic situation will continue to decline for the vast majority, until we are but slaves to the boss, and the government.
