The Issue

Petition to Support Tennessee Family Court Modernization & Child Stability Reform

Across Tennessee, many children and families continue experiencing prolonged parental conflict, repeated litigation, communication abuse, delayed enforcement, and ongoing instability within high-conflict co-parenting situations.

While Tennessee family courts work hard to manage difficult parenting and child support matters, many cases become overwhelmed by:

  • repeated parenting-plan disputes,
  • excessive emotionally driven filings,
  • inconsistent documentation,
  • repeated court appearances,
  • hostile communication,
  • and unresolved conflict patterns that negatively affect children emotionally and developmentally.

We believe Tennessee families, courts, and judicial systems would benefit from constructive modernization efforts focused on:

  • reducing unnecessary litigation,
  • improving judicial efficiency,
  • encouraging accountability,
  • streamlining court review processes,
  • and prioritizing child emotional well-being.

We respectfully encourage Tennessee lawmakers, judiciary committees, and court administrators to consider family court modernization reforms such as:

  • Structured co-parenting communication systems in high-conflict cases
  • Expanded use of parallel-parenting frameworks when appropriate
  • Faster review of repeated parenting-plan violations
  • Improved conflict-reduction education for parents
  • Better recognition of repeated destabilizing conduct
  • Child-focused accountability standards
  • Streamlined digital evidence and documentation systems
  • Proposed Judicial Co-Parenting Review Portal

One proposed concept includes the creation of a secure online Tennessee family court review portal, allowing parents involved in active parenting-plan matters to formally submit:

  • parenting-plan violations,
  • modification requests,
  • communication records,
  • scheduling disputes,
  • and supporting documentation

through a structured digital format for administrative and judicial review.

The proposed system would function similarly to existing Tennessee systems already utilized through:

  • child support enforcement services,
  • DHS systems,
  • e-filing platforms,
  • and online court management systems.

The goal of this proposed portal would be to:

  • reduce emotionally driven filings,
  • improve documentation consistency,
  • reduce unnecessary hearings,
  • improve long-term conflict tracking,
  • streamline judicial review,
  • discourage frivolous litigation,
  • and improve timely responses to legitimate parenting concerns.

The proposal also includes safeguards such as:

  • sworn submission requirements,
  • penalties for knowingly false reports,
  • judicial discretion protections,
  • confidentiality safeguards,
  • and misuse tracking systems.

This petition is not intended to attack mothers, fathers, courts, or legal professionals. Rather, it is intended to encourage thoughtful discussion regarding healthier long-term outcomes for Tennessee children and more efficient family court management statewide.

Children benefit most from:

  • emotional stability,
  • reduced exposure to parental conflict,
  • consistency,
  • accountability,
  • and healthier co-parenting structures.

We respectfully ask Tennessee lawmakers and judicial leaders to explore modernization efforts that support both family stability and efficient court administration.

Please sign this petition if you support constructive Tennessee family court reform focused on child well-being, reduced conflict, judicial efficiency, and modernization of parenting-plan enforcement systems.

Respectfully,
