New Hampshire’s window tint laws have not kept pace with modern vehicles, technology, or the needs of today’s drivers.
Window tint is more than just a cosmetic modification. It provides real benefits for thousands of New Hampshire residents by helping to:
Reduce dangerous heat inside vehicles during the summer.
Block harmful UV rays that contribute to skin damage and interior fading.
Reduce glare from the sun and headlights.
Increase privacy for families, children, and personal belongings.
Improve comfort during long commutes.
Many surrounding states allow darker window tint than New Hampshire while maintaining safe roadways. As a result, drivers frequently travel between states with different tint laws, creating unnecessary confusion and inconsistent enforcement.
