India’s Department of Telecom (DOT) established an Antenna Rule which states that if a mobile tower has 1 antenna, then it should be installed at a minimum distance of 20 meters from any household or building. The more antennas facing the same direction, then the larger the distance should be between the cell tower and a housing structure.

But our real-world experience has been exactly the opposite with 2 Large Towers built at less than 15 meters distance from our Residential building with more than 4 antennas. This is a blatant violation of the Government regulations on Radiation limits, though the Tower Building Company has taken all the required permissions from Panvel Municipal Corporation, CIDCO, etc.

There were no approvals sought from Local Residents or permissions taken from any Residential societies or enterprises operating around the Tower. The Technical Specifications, awareness training, and none of Safety precautions have been considered. As you can see in the pictures, the Towers have been built on a Road Divider which is hardly 4 feet in length which is again dangerous for the motorists and pedestrians walking beside the Tower.

At this juncture, the radiation hazards have increased multifold times which will cause both Short term and Long Term Health Hazards to the residents. If we do not bring this to the notice of the concerned higher-up authorities there could be more such towers coming up across Navi Mumbai causing damage to the Citizen's health. 

With this forum, we want to share this petition with all the residents, bring awareness to the bitter Truth about how such Large Corporates are manipulating the Government systems while putting the health of thousands of Residents at Risk.
