Don't ship preinstalled non-removable apps on Android phones (ex. Facebook)

Don't ship preinstalled non-removable apps on Android phones (ex. Facebook)

We want our phones to be tailored to our needs. We do not need system applications like Facebook that cannot be removed, that mess up with our contacts, calendar, messages and eat up resources. We want to preserve our privacy. We want to be free to choose what to use, install or have in our phones.

By shipping smartphones with applications like Facebook you breach our rights by imposing Privacy agreements not mentioned during the sale. When getting a phone we know that we need to accept Google and manufacturer agreements. We do not know of applications that are in the device and start tracking us during the first start up of the phone.

When you offer devices with third party applications pre-installed it is you - the phone manufacturers - that have granted permissions to the application to have access to our data. You have made the decision to allow access, not us - the buyers of the device.

We urge that Facebook and other preinstalled apps to be either:

- Offered during first start up as install opt-in
AND/OR
- To be possible to remove them from the system
