I have been in contact with Canadian blood services in an attempt to find out where on the coast can I donate blood? 
In spite of the plea for more donors from Canadian blood services, there is no presence on the Sunshine Coast.

I was advised if we petitioned for the mobile unit, and enough signatures are gained, they would include the Sunshine Coast. 

Please join me in signing this petition so that the coast can join the demand for this very needed gift of life.

Edit- my backstory to this is, I lived in England back in the mid ‘80s.

while I lived there, “mad cow disease” affected many people. The only cow product I consumed was milk. I was then and now, a “pescatarian”. 
Shortly after my return to Canada, I went to donate blood. As I had lived in the UK, I was banned from donating. They could not give me a clear date how long the incubation period was for. Two years ago, I became eligible to donate. This is my drive. To help those that are in need. And, apparently, the need is great.
