This year the Giants played the Dodgers in the NLDS the series was not about baseball it was about the terrible umpires that the MLB put responsible to crew these games. Angel Hernandez's crew was the single worst crew to choose to umpire a NLDS series. This crew is statistically the worst and the calls were not going both ways. Once the Dodgers would get a strike call to go their way the next the Giants could not get the same call to go their way. This wasn't once or twice this was the whole game. Many of the calls were completely terrible and it was Angel Hernandez game 2 (Dodgers win) and Doug Eddings game 5 (Dodgers win). Also, the check swing at the end of the game that was ruled a swing there was an instance in Game 3 where Gabe Morales (same umpire) called a more swing from Corey Seager a no swing. There is a direct correlation between these two events and the terrible calls that are going the Dodgers way. This needs to be put too a stop in Major League Baseball as this is ruining the America's pastime. I have two solutions for the MLB to solve this issue. First is to discipline the umpires for doing a bad job. If these umpires are disciplined for bad performances then the calls will be much better. Umpires like Angel Hernandez seem "comfortable" with his job as he realizes that no matter what he does the MLB will not discipline him for a bad game. The next solution is to switch to electronic strike zones these umpires got fooled by simple framing by Will Smith as he literally frames everything this should not easily fool a Major League umpire. They need to be trained to see where the pitch crosses the plate not how well the catcher frames the pitch. Therefore the MLB needs to discipline the umpire crew and make change quick as a baseball fan I do not want to see another series in this postseason get ruined by the umpires.
