Throughout the Washington Nationals' World Series Championship run in 2019, infielder/DH Howie Kendrick had several key contributions for the team. In game 5 of the NLDS, Kendrick hit the series winning grand slam. Kendrick went on to win the NLCS MVP award for his performance against the Cardinals. Finally, in game 7 of the World Series, with his team trailing, Kendrick hit a go ahead home run; the Nationals would win this game, clinching their first title in franchise history.
Without him, it is likely that the Nationals do not win their title. He should be remembered by fans for a long time, and what better way to do so than with a statue. It is because of these reasons why I believe one should be built.
