Dasani water is being sold in schools across the world, despite being unhealthy and addicting. Despite being advertised as "pure water", Dasani water has added salt, and Dasani is made with tap water. Despite being more expensive than "cleaner" alternatives, schools continue to use Dasani as their affordable water solution. Due to SARS-COV-2, school water fountains are out of function.

Sadly Dasani can also cause pain. The additives in Dasani are known to cause a number of issues. These include dry mouth, abdominal pain, birth defects, and even death. Despite being water, Dasani contains four ingredients.

The first one is tap water. If Dasani is made with tap water, why would you even buy it, rather than drinking from the tap? The second ingredient is Magnesium Sulfate. A more simple name would be Epson salt. Dasani uses this ingredient as a drying agent. This can cause dry mouth, leading to more thirst, leading to more bottles of Dasani bought. The water in our school system is a cash grab! Studies confirmed that just 5-7 days of in utero exposure to magnesium sulfate can cause birth defects. This is simply outrageous! The third ingredient is Potassium Chloride. Potassium Chloride is used in lethal injections to stop the heart. It also can cause birth defects, the list of side effects from potassium chloride could go on forever: gastrointestinal disruptions, bowel lesions, cardiac arrhythmias, muscle weakness, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia or heartburn, and more. The fourth ingredient is salt. While salt is rarely dangerous, why is Dasani putting salt in water? I hope that schools can move to a cheaper, healthier alternative, such as Poland's springs.
