Mithilanchal- the much demanded state of Mata Sita.

Mithilanchal- the much demanded state of Mata Sita.
The Issue
The proud Maithils, hailing from various parts of Mithila, or Mithilanchal, come together to petition the esteemed authorities for the establishment of Mithilanchal as a separate state, recognizing the historical, cultural, and linguistic uniqueness of our region. Mithilanchal, the birthplace of Mata Sita according to the Ramayana, is a geographical and cultural region enriched by the Mahananda river, the Ganga, the Gandaki river, and the Himalayan foothills. Mithilanchal comprises significant parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, and the eastern Terai of Nepal. Our language, Maithili, with its roots in this ancient land, is an integral part of our cultural identity.
Mithilanchal faces recurring challenges from floods, disrupting normal life and causing immense hardship to its residents. A separate government with a primary focus on Mithilanchal is crucial for the efficient management and mitigation of flood-related issues. Tailored policies, infrastructure, and disaster preparedness can be implemented to address this longstanding problem.
Establishing Mithila as a separate state will propel overall development, allowing the region to gain global recognition. As part of this development, we propose the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Mata Sita (much like the Akshardham temple located in Delhi) at the banks of Ganga river in Bhagalpur, which is present day Kingdom of Karn, Anga. This temple would not only become a symbol of our culture with Mithila heritage but also attract devotees and visitors from around the world, contributing to the economic and cultural growth of Mithilanchal.
Maithili, the language of Mata Sita, deserves recognition and inclusion in primary education. We urge the government to make Maithili the medium of education at the primary level, thereby preserving our rich linguistic heritage.
As we advocate for the establishment of Mithilanchal as a separate state, we emphasize the need to nurture and promote cultural treasures like Mithila painting. With dedicated support and recognition, Mithilanchal can continue to be a cradle of artistic brilliance, inspiring generations to come.
Mithilanchal is home to sacred pilgrimage sites such as Sita Kund and Punaura Dham Janki Mandir, honoring the birthplace of Mata Sita. These sites are integral to our cultural identity and hold immense religious significance. We propose a dedicated tourism promotion initiative to highlight and preserve these sacred places, attracting pilgrims and visitors from across the country.
Proposing Darbhanga as the capital of Mithilanchal, we embrace the historical significance rooted in Darbhanga's prestigious past, specifically the Darbhanga Raj. Inspired by this legacy, our choice pays homage to a lineage that profoundly influenced the arts, literature, and governance of Mithila. Together, Darbhanga-Madhubani represents the essence of Mithilanchal—a convergence of history and culture.
We request renaming of the Pawan Express to "Vidyapati Express", honoring the illustrious Mithila poet Vidyapati. This train, connecting Mumbai to Darbhanga, holds immense significance for Mithila speakers, and renaming it would not only pay homage to Vidyapati's contributions but also promote Maithili culture among millions of railway passengers. We also propose "Silk City" Bhagalpur as the sub-capital city for Mithilanchal, given its historical significance as the ancient kingdom Anga ruled by Karn, son of Surya Dev. This choice aligns with the cultural heritage of our region and adds a deeper connection to the celebration of Chhath Puja, an important cultural festival for Maithils.
Mithilanchal boasts diverse tourist attractions, such as the ancient city of Vaishali, a site of great historical importance. Additionally, the Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary, with its hot spring waters and pristine streams, provides a unique ecological experience, attracting nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers alike.
A separate Mithilanchal state can unleash economic potential through tourism and sustainable development. By recognizing the unique strengths of our region, we can pave the way for progress and prosperity.
We earnestly request the authorities to consider our plea for the establishment of Mithilanchal as a separate state, the recognition of Maithili language in education, and the construction of a grand temple for Mata Sita. This endeavor is not just a demand; it is a collective aspiration to preserve our heritage, contribute to the diverse tapestry of India, and position Mithilanchal on the global stage.
Together, help us build a future that celebrates our cultural identity, fosters the growth of our beloved Mithila, and ensures prosperity through worldwide recognition.
