Place a cap on how much a realtor can increase rental rates for a property

The Issue

In June of 2011 the city of Minot was devasted by a flood. This pushed a town that was already having housing issues into a housing crisis. All over town realtors have increased rental rates, and the city of Minot has allowed excessive rent increases to be implemented without any significant cap on price per year. I am petitioning the city of Minot to place a cap on how much a realtor/rental agency can increase rent to.

Jessica LongPetition StarterIm a 27 year old soon to mom. I live in Minot nd and ever since the flood that destroyed a portion of town I have seen realtors increase rates at an astronomical rate. My apartment has gone up 200 dollars in the last 6 months. The apartment is small and the rental agency never fixes anything that is broken. I am trying to petition the city of Minot to be open to placing a cap on how much a realtor/rental agency can increase their rates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
