Protect and ensure the 2021 Minnesota High School Spring Football & Volleyball Seasons

Protect and ensure the 2021 Minnesota High School Spring Football & Volleyball Seasons

The Issue

Our Purpose: To use the power of the entire Minnesota student-athlete body to lobby the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Governor Walz's Office, or any other entity necessary to answer the following questions:

  1. What scientific data is different from the other states in the United States that are allowing football and volleyball to take place in the fall of 2020?
  2. What level of Covid-19 infections will be acceptable to have football and volleyball in Spring ‘21?
  3. Why are we cancelling football and volleyball to mitigate the spread of a virus that is less deadly to football and volleyball players than the flu virus?
  4. How can we ensure that our seasons and games won’t be cancelled by flu, colds, and other illnesses that we have played through in the past?
  5. What scientific data is used to determine that Football and Volleyball are the highest risk sports of Covid-19 spread?
  6. What ways might we need to adapt our game for the ‘21 season to mitigate some of those risks?
