Protect the Malayan Tiger from extinction

Protect the Malayan Tiger from extinction
The Issue
A sub-species of tiger found only in the Malay Peninsula and the southern part of Thailand known as the Malayan tiger is in danger of extinction. These Malayan tigers were classified the same as the Indochinese tiger until tests showed it to be a separate subspecies in 2004.
There are only about 500 living members of this sub-species, with only 3,200 wild tigers remaining in the world. The tiger’s main habitat is Belum-Temengor, the largest continuous forest area in Peninsular Malaysia. Unfortunately, the forest has been exposed to a devastating amount of deforestation from logging. The recently completed East-West Highway has provided easier access for timber extraction from the jungles and has been encouraging an increase in logging activity. There are also plans to convert the natural forest along the East-West Highway to plantation forests.
We ask that Malasyia help save the Malayan tiger from extinction by providing “protected, unfragmented habitat” and through stopping the logging in Temengor Rainforest. The Temengor Rainforest is one of the last safe places for the Malayan tiger, and we ask that you help us in ensuring the survival of this struggling species.
Thanks
