Increase the moratorium period and reduce the Education Loan intrest for Batch of 2020
The Issue

Indian Banks Association
We the students of Batch of 2020 and passed out prior to this are facing the worst impact of COVID-19 outbreak and the after effects. Most of us are facing the freezed hiring, postponement of offers that were rolled on campus and some unfortunate among us have not been able to fetch a single job because companies have been shut down and due to the upcoming financial disturbances companies are not accepting job applications. The institutes whom we represent are pioneer in making managers and professionals for the country and the corporates all over the globe. And these future professionals are going through a phase of trauma and stress due to whopping Education Loan amount and the Interest attached with it which is calculated as Compound Interest. This combined situation is leading to stress in students and their families. Some of us were going to become Sole Earners of our families on which the families have spent a lot over years.
To eradicate such situation we the students request Honourable Finance Minister, HRD Minister and Bankers to give some relief to the students who are actually the future of nation. The relief should be waiving of interest for a particular period and giving extended moratorium period to repay the loans. If this doesn't happens our parents have sell their properties, house, lands to repay the loans and any government which respects the talent will not accept this.
This step will help in strengthening the beliefs of the students to the country's systems and government. And this will also help in reducing the talent flow to other nations which is a matter of great concern and impact India's vision to become a 5 trillion Economy.
I am one among the students who are suffering in this moment. We request you to kindly listen to us and give us the required relief. Thanking in anticipation.
