We need safe school buses.

The Issue

School buses are currently not subject to the same standards of safety as private cars and tourism buses. Safety belts are not fitted and school children are being forced to stand in buses, even on the open road.

This would not be acceptable for tourists or private bus users, so why is it acceptable for our vulnerable school age children?

We need a policy of "one seat, one child".

We petition the Ministers to make urgent changes to the regulations that govern school bus operations so that the safety of our children is recognised as being of paramount importance. Our belief is that unless urgent change is made we will experience a school bus tragedy that will involve the loss of life.
