Give Care Workers a living wage.
The Issue
Care workers in England are amongst the lowest paid people in the country.
£8.72 per hour for looking after the most vulnerable people in society is an insult and a disgrace.
This crisis has shown us how valuable these people are. They have all put themselves on the front line, provided a shield for their residents and even died.
It's time they were remunerated accordingly.
The government must put a minimum hourly salary in place for care workers that reflects their worth to society.
I'm calling on Boris Johnson to do the right thing and reward these wonderful, caring people for all the help, care and love they give their residents.
