To allow partners/husbands to be able to stay at the hospitals once babies are born

Since the latest lock down in Victoria as of midnight 8th of July, partners or husbands of woman in labour must leave shortly after the baby is born and is only aloud to visit 2hrs per day during the hours of 4pm and 8pm according to Werribee Mercy Hospital.
This is putting a lot of stress and anxiety on woman who are due around this time, it’s bad enough that woman are not aloud to have their mothers in the labour room but the hospitals are now taking away the husbands too and leaving Mothers alone. The Fathers also have a right to be apart of the first couple of days of their child’s life and no one has the right to be able to take that away from them.
If a woman is in labour for 18hrs (example) the husband is aloud to stay during that time but then has to leave once the baby is born, that doesn’t make sense at all.
The hospital has basically said if you are not happy with this you can self discharge.
Husbands or partners should be aloud to stay the whole time while the mother and baby is in hospital.
