E-cigarette regulations – YES! Ban – No!

E-cigarette regulations – YES! Ban – No!
The Issue
We demand that Ministry of Health & Family Welfare consider the issue of state competent e-cigarette regulation!
Due to the fact that e-cigarettes were banned in some Indian States recently, we call on the Government to develop and to adopt a document of e-cigarette regulation at the State level.
Since there is a large amount of irrefutable evidence based on the international research, that e-cigarette product doesn't influent negatively on human health, 95% less harmful than tobacco cigarettes, and help people around the world quit smoking, the e-cigarette ban is the violation of human rights.
The Government should use all possible ways to help people quit a harmful habit.
While the countries of Europe and America adopted laws on the regulation e-cigarette use and sale to preserve citizens’ life and health, India is contemplating a ban on the product.
Indian people are moving towards technological progress and accepting the healthy lifestyle, and have the right to free choice!
Below are several important e-cigarette studies:
“Safety Evaluation and Risk Assessment of Electronic Cigarettes as Tobacco Cigarette Substitutes: A Systematic Review” by Konstantinos E. Farsalinos and Riccardo Polosa.
“Effects of Electronic Cigarette Use on Myocardial Function” by Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos
“E-Cigarettes: Methodological and Ideological Issues and Research Priorities” by Jean-François Etter
“Ethical Issues Raised by a Ban on the Sale of Electronic Nicotine Devices” by Wayne Hall, Coral Gartner and Cynthia Forlini
“Effect of Smoking Abstinence and Reduction in Asthmatic Smokers Switching to Electronic Cigarettes: Evidence for Harm Reversal” by Riccardo Polosa, Jaymin Morjaria, Pasquale Caponnetto, Massimo Caruso, Simona Strano, Eliana Battaglia and Cristina Russo
“The ASSI (Anti-Smoking & Science Inventory) – Assessing the ASSS and ASSSED” by Fr. Jack Kearney
Sign our petition and ask the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of India to act against the e-cigarette ban.
