The Issue

We would like to bring your notice, the unprecedented deaths and missing of stray cats within the premises of Sobha Hill View Apartment, Talaghattapura, Bangalore. There have been more than 85 stray cats 2 months ago, which has now been reduced to less than half in last 2 months. Most of the cats that died / missing were apparently healthy and friendly cats.

This has never happened in last 10 years in this premises. In last 2 -3 months, severe objections were raised by few who wanted to remove the cats from the premises. There were heated debates by a few who wanted to get rid of cats. Though, volunteers collected money and were preparing for sterilisation of cats as per the Animal Welfare Board of India circulars, the few objected even to sterilisation because they just wanted to get rid of cats.

It was further observed that there were serial deaths of cats. In few of the cases, dying cats were seen vomiting blood. When volunteers had taken a dying cat to nearby Veterinary hospital, the doctor on duty suspected it to be case of poisoning.

In this context, we all request the authorities to conduct an enquiry in to this gruesome incident and bring the perpetuators of this heinous crime to book.
