As you would expect AHAR have had a lot of fundraisers over the years. Where AHAR stands out is, in most cases, the item money was raised for never appears (excluding general running costs - food, bedding etc). SPECIFIC FUNDRAISERS •Patron's Wall - not done •Sponsor A Kennel - none built •Kennel Syndicate - none built •Sponsor A Block - no kennels built •Specially Equipped Rescue Stable - with hoist, lift, slings and padded walls. Despite required money raised - still no stable kitted out. •Stable Syndicate (A stable for Passion) The current location was an equestrian centre previously. Sponsorship €1,000 each stable. 4 years later and still no plaques. *Please note, despite still raising funds for a new kennel block, no kennel block has been included in the recent planning application. So where has the money gone? GENERAL FUNDRAISERS There have also been general fundraisers for money where designated task were not carried out as promised despite money raised. DONATED ITEMS Items kindly donated from cooker & kitchen units to grooming equipment, paint and a large quantity of building materials for the Dream Rooms that were never completed and many more - carelessly discarded. PERSONAL FUNDRAISING When an end product does appear - in the case of the ashes of Honky - the founder and current manager's pet pig, then it is a misuse of the AHAR's charity page and funds as the money should have been raised separately. Using the charity's name and page, for personal fundraising outwith the rescue is not allowed. LEGAL FUND/S Then we have two legal funds so far. We are still waiting for the legal action and court case. The last one was unethical and misleading, given the former Chair Jean, did so as Chair of AHAR and promoting it as an AHAR charity act, not personal fundraiser. Including, promoting on AHAR Facebook page, using the AHAR logo and name and claiming the appeal was with CRA approval which was later amended. CODE RED SCAMS We have the CODE RED scams as highlighted in RTÉ exposés - funds raised for faked rescues - where AHAR also inadvertently admitted, on film, to lying. FACEBOOK APPEALS The near constant begging for funds on the AHAR Facebook page is again an offence - putting undue pressure on the public with their emotionally manipulative stories. The fabricated stories, again dishonest and raising funds by deception. FAIRS The money raised to BUY dogs at fairs. No transparency as to how much money was raised and cost of purchases, as AHAR continually beg for more and more funds - never reporting - which would allow dogs to be confiscated, instead fueling the trade in misery. Funds raised prior to the fair, then continuing pushing for more money on fair day. Then asking for more money for sponsorship and veterinary bills plus receiving an adoption fee. A lot of money being raised for animals, many of which, could be rescued at no cost - if only they were reported. CASH DONATIONS Then we have any cash sent via mail. The people donating cash whilst at AHAR. The large cash sums kindly donated directly to the manager. NO receipt, NO record, NO proof. Where does the money go - nobody knows. A crime is still a crime no matter the time. VETERINARY WORK We have not included money raised for specific animals' veterinary work as there are never any named itemised veterinary invoices to show what treatment actually cost, or how much was even raised. LACK OF LEGAL ACTION Why have no charges been brought, when AHAR have clearly flouted the law for years? Where is the duty of care to protect the public, who have so generously donated?
