At the end of November, the Planning Department of Kerry County Council postponed a final decision on AHAR's request for permission to retain the use of their property as an animal shelter and extend the main shed housing comprising stable, arena, storage etc., pending the submission of revised plans and further information. They have been given six months to do so. (End of May) Among the many points raised by the planners which AHAR have been asked to address are: - lack of suitable manure storage and treatment facilities - lack of suitable dog waste storage and disposal arrangements - "Clarification on future use of the indoor arena area as the floor of this arena area is currently unsealed, THIS AREA IS NOT DEEMED APPROPRIATE FOR THE HOLDING OF DOGS, HORSES, BOVINES, OR OTHER ANIMALS." (Direct quote from planning dept. letter; emphasis ours) - who legally owns the land (the application was made in the name of SG) - statement of maximum capacities for all animals to be housed - what the intention is in respect to the unauthorised exterior dog pen near the front door of the shed - provide details of the proposed disposal of surface water "to watercourse" as indicated in AHAR's submission, including how they intend to prevent polluting said watercourse - other drawings, plans, explanations etc. as specified in the letter. See screenshots with this post of the planning letter letter to AHAR and their representative for full information.
