Sustainable Mobility Policy Public Consultation

Sustainable Mobility Policy Public Consultation
The Issue
I am writing to ask you to join us in making a response to the Irish Government's Public Consultation on Sustainable Transport and Mobility. I am part of a dedicated team in RKD Architects tasked with evaluating the draft policy documents that cover transport, mobility and land use planning.
We have reviewed the background papers prepared by The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (DTTAS) and in our opinion, the proposals are not adequate to meet the demands of the existing or growing population of Ireland.
We have prepared our own document [download here] that outlines research and proposals from other comparable European cities. The critical issues covered are population growth, sustainability, health, well-being, suburban sprawl, congestion and density. We show proposals that include balanced growth, dense liveable cities and good connections with the aim to improve the lifes of people. Benefits that we can all gain from improved transport and planning are a higher quality of life, better public space, better health and stronger communities.
The deadline for response is 00:00 on Friday 28th February 2020. We are inviting you to make a submission to influence a better Sustainable Mobility Policy for Ireland. We understand that responses to the Department are more likely to be considered they come from multiple parties. We are asking as many people and companies to participate in responding.
Please sign this petition and we will send all the signitures in with the formal response to the DTTAS.
Yours Sincerely,
Harry Browne.
